Red Hot Chili Peppers Pay Loving Tribute to Eddie Van Halen on ‘Eddie’

The Red Hot Chili Peppers: they’re just like us. If by that you mean they miss Eddie Van Halen tremendously, then, yes, we’re the same. But of course the Rock Hall of Famers have bassist Flea and Flea had a bass riff that made the rest of the band feel some feelings about the late Van Halen guitarist, so now we have “Eddie.”

“Sometimes we don’t realize how deeply affected and connected we are to artists until the day they die,” RHCP singer Anthony Keidis wrote in an Instagram message introducing the band’s emotional tribute to EVH: “Eddie,” which dropped on Friday (Sept. 23).
