Atlantic City Marathon Bands/Entertainment Zones

The Atlantic City Marathon has a 54 year year history in South Jersey! 100.7 WZXL and it's sister stations want to celebrate this history and help the event to grow bigger and better every year! Join us throughout the race route  to cheer on runners or JAM to these great bands / DJs on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21ST FROM 9AM-1PM.  All four radio station interactive vans , including 100.7 WZXL  will be located in various locations along the route, proudly playing music that spans Top 40, Classic Rock, Rythmic and R & B musical formats...to compliment local bands and live disc jockeys from various genres such as rock, soul, blues, hip hop, punk and pop.

JD & BLUESBOX DELUX - AT STEVE & COOKIES IN MARGATE
An Acoustic and Electric, Original and Classic Blues, Roots, Soul and Rock Band, features two seasoned performers, lead singer/songwriter/guitarist, Joe “JD”, DiBartolo and his longtime bass player/back-up singer, Frank Barbera, complemented by the youthful “Wonder Twins” (riveting guitarist, Frank Kozak, and savvy drummer/percussionist, Ryan Huff). Kozak, producer of BLUESBOX DELUX’S debut CD, “Boxing Day” and JD’s solo original CD,  “Before the Night is Through”, adds an edge to BLUESBOX that he acquired while performing with original bands before he discovered his spiritual connection to the Blues. Together, “JD” and Kozak create a rich tapestry of Blues and original music that reverberates with their own individual sounds. From intense dueling guitars, to hauntingly harmonious sweet riffs the two disparate guitarists artistically combine their strong improvisational skills that’s at the core of the band’s inspired eclectic mix of interpretations of Classic R&B, Soul, Blues and Rock. MATT AVERY - AT JJ'S BREAKFAST SPOT IN MARGATE
He was voted Key West's #1 Entertainer of the Year, appeared on the Tonight Show and on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. He even won Star Search! It’s Matt Avery, a.k.a. The Human Jukebox with a mental library of over 4,000 songs. Not only is his songlist vast but, his ability to sound like the original artist is uncanny. DAN MARRO  – “ACOUSTIC CLASSIC ROCK” - AT COLUMBIA AVENUE AND THE BOARDWALK IN ATLANTIC CITY

Dan Marro has performed in the area for more than 20 years. An accomplished singer-songwriter with an affinity for classic rock music, his acoustic performance consists of a non-stop array of songs from The Beatles, Rod Stewart, The Who, The Eagles and Bruce Springsteen. What sets him apart is his unique vocal ability, replicating the voices of the artists as they sounded on the record. A local pop/rock band handling an eclectic mix of covers and original music. When cousins Johnny Zappas and Sarah Holt found themselves the only musicians in the family, it was no surprise when they began playing and writing music together. Johnny's passion for guitar shines through on every song while Sarah Holt’s sultry voice brings a unique edge to the band. Drummer Joey Dobbins and bass player/vocalist Luke Petrecca helped to take their sound to the next level. DJ BRIAN QUINN AT WASHINGTON AVENUE DOCKS IN MARGATE
At age 15 Brian Quinn became a mobile DJ under the influence of his older brother, DJ Quinn. Brian grew up in Blackwood N.J., with the Philadelphia music scene as his backdrop. With his inspirations top of mind, DJ Sat-one, Excel and Jazzy Jeff, he picked up on the way Philadelphia embraces a wide variety of music. DJs continually bring such diversity to their sets. He began to pursue Turntablism.“Using a pair of turntables like an instrument is just mind blowing,” Quinn states. He specialized in weddings and mobile parties to help pay for college. FREE ZUMBA AT THE MILTON AND BETTY KATZ JCC ON JEROME AVENUE IN MARGATE - 11:00AM-12:30AM (EVERY 20 MINUTES)
The Zumba instructor for the JCC chearing point is Sergeant First Class LeVar "Big Sarge" Curry. He is the local Army National Guard recruiter who has served in the Army over 17 years. While having 15 years of experience teaching physical fitness throughout the military he is an American Sports and Fitness Association cerified Group Fitness instructor, along with being one of the most unique Zumba instructors in South Jersey.
 

BEYOND THERAPY AT THE GAZEBO AT NEWPORT AVENUE AND THE BOARDWALK IN VENTNOR“Some say we’re crazy, some say we’re nuts, we just say we are Beyond Therapy”! We are a rock cover band, well suited for any occasion - laid back or party central - with more years of combined performance experience than we care to admit. Beyond Therapy has been rocking South Jersey since early 2009. Our set list is as diverse as our members’ age range. Classic & modern rock tunes, with a unique blend of other stuff thrown in there for your listening pleasure. A five piece rock cover band from Atlantic County, covering a vast variety of music from classic to modern rock and a little funk & reggae to keep the people up & dancing! Music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today! 

The band has built a very supporting fan base playing venues from Philly to NJ. Motherload has performed at Chickie's and Pete's, Caroline's By the Bay, The Watering Hole, Christi's Bar, The Ocean Drive, Tom and Jerry's, & 100.7 WZXL’s Bud Light Battle By the Beach Band Competition.
